My husband, Ray, and I moved to Glocester, RI in late 1999. With my love of gardening and his love of working outside, we began building gardens. Many are in raised beds and greenhouses. We now have over an acre of vegetable and herb gardens.

Since I use no salad dressing myself, I began growing more flavorful salad greens. What developed was a wonderful gourmet salad mix that has a lot of our customers "hooked" on the unusual and delicious taste. It's available nowhere else!

We grow the usual tomatoes, cukes, and peppers, etc.; but I enjoy searching for and growing the unusual varieties of vegetables that we don't see every day in the supermarkets or farm stands. How about a lemon cucumber or purple beans? Have you or your children snacked on tasty, nutritious, ground husk tomatoes?

In 2002, we added some mini-Nubian goats to our farm. They are truly wonderful animals! We absolutely love them! And they supply us with lots of manure to fertilize our gardens.

The next venture was to make goat milk soap. I went at it like a "mad scientist." It took me 25 "tries" to formulate a recipe that I felt was sensational. (The less-than-sensational batches have since been shredded in my food processor and are being used for laundry soap.)

My efforts have been worthwhile. We now offer a soap that's fabulous for dry skin and feels so comforting to wash with. Our customers keep coming back for more! We also offer gift boxes and baskets for any type of gift giving.

2004 was our first year for the farm stand and soap store. At first, we conducted business from a tent outside. After a heavy rainfall in late 2004, we moved into the garage.

In 2005, we added goat milk lotion, botanical soaps, and goat 'abilia' to our product line. And, Ray & Ray Jr. renovated the garage with the help of our friends, Donna & Roberto. We're able to boast a "real" shop now!
